Saturday PhotoHunt - Pointed

Time for the Saturday PhotoHunt again, and this week the subject is
pointed.

I took this photo of a rose branch in my front garden on Thursday evening, just before 9 o'clock, with the late sun illuminating the pointed thorns. It was a beautiful evening.

A wonderful photo and now I know why (((it hurts))) so much when one penetrates a gardeners finger!!

I still feel the sting when I was pricked with rose thorns. Nice take on the theme.

Pointy rose thorns. Ouch! When my wife and I moved into our first home 5 years ago there was a puny rose plant next to the garage. I've not done anything special to it except to water it whenever it doesn't rain for an extended period but it's grown into a fairly large rose plant producing large red roses from time to time.

I've got my PhotoHunt entry up at http://www.anniemayhem.com/cgi-bin/wordpress/ in case you're interested. If you do visit, please leave a comment and feel free to explore the rest of my little blog.

I couldn't resist; had to play this meme too!
But, have probably brocken all the rules already, because one photo wasn't enough for me once started - LOL!

Great idea! Sometimes the very obvious is right there!

I must say that you have the most beautiful rose bushes around. I can hardly get mine to be so fat and straight :)

Isn't it ironic how something so beautiful can have such a bite? If there is a thorn anywhere near me, I'm certain to touch it, lol.

Beautifully done!

I really dislike growing roses - they are nasty, evil plants with those sharp bits. But sometimes the perfume is delightful :)

ouch! that's a great pointy pic!
thanks for visitng mine :-)

Most eXcellent! Our roses have been rather neglected of late, poor dears. ThanX for the pointed reminder (sigh) and for stopping by. I appreciated your sensible comment! Who knows what was up with those others? Nonsensical. No matter, I have the power of delete!

Ouch! Just when I thought I could start posting pictures. I got this great idea... I think I'll just wait until tomorrow and I'll post my photo BEFORE I visit anyone else's blog!
Great idea. Brilliant minds think alike they say!

Very pointed thorns! This week I nearly cycled into such thorns. Ouch. Good thing I managed to avoid them.

I love this photo,..... it's awesome. Great job and have a wonderful weekend.

Great focus in this one! And there are few things pointier than thorns. My dad always hated to weed around rose bushes... as he'd say, they "bite."

I wish you'd quit taking pictures of perfect, fake bushes and trying to pass them off as ones you grew... ;o) JUST KIDDING!! lol! How come is it that even your throns are perfect?? Nothing I ever grow comes out looking THAT pretty!

ouch - rose thorns hurt -- wonderful shot you've taken. Hope your weekend has gone well.

Those are very pointed thorns! Our 'thornless' rose bush has a few thorns too.

Super photo of the thorns and stem. I love the shadowing!

You and I are in the great minds think alike category this week for the hunt. I am, as seems to be the case the last few weeks, late this week with my post. Yours is lovely by the way. Really great shot.
