ABC Wednesday - X

It's ABC Wednesday again, and this is the week we've all been waiting for.

This week's letter is X.

X

is for

XEROPHYTE

A xerophyte is a plant adapted for survival in dry conditions. If you're at all interested in learning more, see here.

My cactus is a xerophyte.

For more takes on X words, visit our hostess
Mrs Nesbitt.

Have a great Wednesday.

The flowers on those cactii are so rewarding. There is a place in Graaff Reinet a few hours drive from here that has the most amazing cactus garden. Nice shots

I have enjoyed my visit here, because I've learnt a new word and seen your beautiful photos. Excellent and informative.

Lovely pictures of your X idea. I had one of these on my kitchen window-sill, but I gave it to my neighbour, as she collected different sorts of xerophytes.
I also posted a plant for my X contribution.

Honestly, I didn't copy my X for xenophyte from you! I hadn't read your ABC Wednesday blog before I posted my own. Your photos are lovely.

Wow! Love the cactus pics. I love the world of plants, so absolutely fascinating. Shame humans have to be involved sometimes....fools like me who forget to water regularly!

Your cactus is awesome! My husband has one that is more than 20 years old, and it sometimes flowers too!

Nessa said...

I didn't know that, but I need lots of those kinds of plants as I often forget to water.

The second xerophyte I have seen so far!! A new word I learned on the last site, and now recognise and actually know what it means on this one!
Thank you. Great X. Well done and thanks for your visit.

I looked up that word in the dictionary when I was planning my choice and didn't even remember I have a Christmas cactus. Yours is very pretty! I chose something else I had with an X.

"Louis" is buried deeper than his cowbell in a work project for the next several weeks. He will stop and visit, but may not stay long enough to 'sign the guest registry'.

Great post! Wish I'd know the word when I was teaching about the desert to my 4th graders. I know I'm late, but pop over to see my X post. :D

Living and learning... I didn't know the name of this acctus is xerophyte. I love cactus in general, such strong, stubborn little plants, but I have none at home!

Loved your X choice, mine was posted yesterday, so late!

I'm impressed! I can't get cacti to grow at all, let alone bloom!
