ABC Wednesday - J and K.

I missed last week - sorry about that!
I thought I'd show just one picture for the letter J
Jewellery-making.
It's a hobby I haven't practised much recently, but I still have all the stuff.

Now for today.
K
is for
Ketu,
who is a hatching dragon made by Nemesis Now.

I think he's really cute!
(Or should that be Kute?!)

There are many more K posts over on the ABC page. Go and enjoy what others have found.

ABC Wednesday - I.

Late again, but at least I'm here now!

This week the letter is I.

I
is for
INCENSE.

I'm very fond of incense, which comes in several forms.

There's loose incense made of powders, herbs, and gums or resins. This kind of incense is usually smouldered on glowing charcoal, producing plenty of smoke.

Then there are the more usual sticks, which again come in a seemingly endless variety of scents and sizes.

These small sticks are presented in a neat gift collection.

Now, I know you'd be disappointed if I didn't show you a dragon. I've considered naming this one Ignius! He holds a cone of incense in his front paws.

He also holds a burning cone inside himself, and the smoke pours out through his open jaws.
I think he looks a bit young to smoke!

There will be many more interesting and inventive "I" words to be found through the ABC Wednesday page. Why not investigate?

ABC Wednesday - H.

I'm running even later than ever!

This week's letter is H, and
H
is for
HORSE BRASSES.

For those of you who don't know of horse brasses, Wikipedia has a brief description here.

I grew up loving brass ornaments - my mother collected many - but we only ever saw horse brasses in hotels and cafés.
In recent times I've been able to gather a few. Some are very old, others are more modern. When I have more I'll probably be able to arrange them more suitably.

These hang in the hallway.

These are by my husband's desk. He's had the dolphin brass for many years.

And these are in my son's room.

I hope to find many more designs eventually.

Do visit the ABC Wednesday page to find heaps of H entries!

Monochrome Weekly Theme

Edited, because I should have explained that these are two types of lobster/crab traps on a pile of tarpaulin.

ABC Wednesday - G.

G
is for
GIFT.
A Gorgeous Gift of a red Glass dragon, given to me by Eldest Daughter.

It grabs the clear glass pillar with golden claws.

And it has gleaming golden gnashers and horns as well.

More great entries this week can be found through the ABC Wednesday page, although the McLinky isn't working so we're using the comments again!
