Sky Watch Friday

I took this yesterday evening at 8.15 pm. Moments before, the fiery colour covered most of the sky - but my camera was in another room!
The sun is setting earlier now.

Sky Watch Friday & Reflect This - Day Six

Another economy post - two for the price of one.

A showery summer sky, for Sky Watch Friday,

reflected (for Quilly) in our car window.

Sky Watch Friday

This is a twig of my son's ornamental crab-apple tree. It has purple-red new leaves, deep reddish-pink flowers, and now some small purplish apples. There's one on this twig, but you need to look closely!
It looks lovely against the sky.

Sky Watch Friday

My Sky Watch comes to you today from Dungloe's Festival.
As you can see, the weather is fairly typical for this time of year!

This was Main Street this morning.

And the funfair, which will open later on (nothing much happens in the mornings here!)

Check out the new, dedicated Sky Watch blog for a load more photos.

My Sky Watch photo this week was taken on Wednesday just after 9.30pm.
Sunset is already slightly earlier than it was!

Sky Watch Friday

Taken on my camera-phone a couple of weeks ago, while on a morning walk with my dog.

Sky Watch Friday

Just before 10pm last Monday, I saw this cloud gently lit by the setting sun. I took three photos at five-minute intervals.

Sky Watch Friday

I took this photo this evening (Thursday) at 8pm.
We'd had a showery day, but the weather turned much more pleasant.
Just over the pole to the right of centre some birds are flying home to roost. They should be more visible if you click on the picture to enlarge it.

Sky Watch Friday - Midsummer Evenings.

This first photo was taken last Sunday at 11pm from my back garden. The sky is still surprisingly light.

This second shot was taken the next evening from the same place, just 20 minutes earlier.

I was lucky. Both evenings were cool enough that the evil midges were fairly quiet, so I could manage the photos in safety!

Sky Watch Friday

Well, it's very nearly midsummer, and the sky shows the type of weather we're getting. You can even see some raindrops on the window (no, I wasn't mad enough to go out!)

This second photo was taken just around sunset (about 10pm) Wednesday evening. The sky was so bright that the houses look dark!
The window faces roughly south-west, and the sun would be setting behind the house roof on the far right of the picture. There's another shower on the way in from the see!

Happy Midsummer!

Sky Watch Friday

Yes, I'm joining in another photo meme!

For some time I've seen many inspiring sky pictures on blogs I visit, but I've been nervous of joining in. But now newly blogging daughter has taken the plunge, so I've been encouraged to follow suit.

I took this photo yesterday evening from one of our upstairs windows. As you can see, the sky is nothing like that posted by our host!
