The Weekend in Black and White.

Some of you wondered last week about my tiny beads, so I thought I'd show you what it was all about.

I like to knit shawls - and add beads!

It's a bit fiddly, but I think it's worth it.

Lights

I saw this on Leila Raven's Instagram page, and had to make one of my own!

Knitting needle case

I was tidying my knitting needles - there seem to be many missing!

(Any knitters among you will know where they are!)

Tiny Safety Pins.

I'm told these are from France, as they are different from the safety pins I've used before.
They are very useful as easily-removed markers when I'm knitting.

The Weekend in Black and White.

I've been meaning to share this with you for some time.

A friend gave me some knitting needles for Christmas.
Nothing unusual in that - my friends know I'm a knitting... er... knut.

But just look at the designs on the ends of the needles!

 Abacus Bracelet

Well, a very simplified form of an abacus.
It has smooth glass beads that can be moved along the cords.
I find it useful for counting sections of complicated knitting patterns.

 Giant Knitting!

25mm needles, a little bit small for broomsticks, but not very much.
Four balls of chunky/bulky yarn used together.
I've never knit anything this size before.

Stitch Markers

I've been doing quite a bit of knitting recently.
I use stitch markers to keep track of certain pattern changes.
These pretty silver and crystal markers are called 'April Showers' and are beautifully sparkly.

Light Tent

I have a new light tent!!!

This photo shows Second Daughter photographing her newly-finished shawl. It needs blocking to ease it into its proper shape, but she wanted before and after photos - and the light tent was available!

LAST MINUTE

It's always the same this time of year - somehow I leave something to the last minute!

The first photo was taken by my son, because he liked the shadows. I've just started the first sleeve for my grandson's jumper.

I took this photo after putting my knitting down on the kitchen counter.

I won't be seeing Grandson until the day after Christmas, and I'm sure I'll have it finished by then.
Won't I?

Plenty more black and white photos can be found through the Home Page links.
