ABC Wednesday - K

This week ABC Wednesday has reached the letter K for the third time, although it's only my second.

K
is for
kindling

Here is a collection of kindling, waiting to be used to start a fire in our new small stove.

And here it is, just waiting for the match.

A warm wood fire is a joy and a delight on a chilly, windy evening!

ABC Wednesday was started by the lovely Mrs Nesbitt, visit her for the fascinating story of her klaxon!

If you want to see other entries, you can visit the Mr Linky page, or the no-comment Anthology site.

Have a good Wednesday.

I wondered what you were doing stuffing the camera in the stove.

There's nothing like a wood fire. Good idea for the letter K. I don't participate in ABC wednesday but fun seeing what people come up with.

I had a tough time with K. Kindling is perfect!

Just in time for a bumper fire.

Good idea for K, I love an open fire, unfortunately I don't have an open fire in my modern house.

Good pictures. When I was a kid my grandmother had a wood stove and a box of kindling next to it. I used it like Lincoln logs and built forts out of it. Thanks for the memories.

I love Aileni's comments. Your house is like mine, bloggimg mad. I Think we may be using kindling with the fuel prices this year. Good choice and I bet it would look great in mono too.

Lots of kindling makes a wonderful fire as the temps. get colder. Nice choice for the letter K.

Great idea for K. Different, I doubt anyone else will think of this. Good job.

We had a big wind storm a week or so ago and I have all sorts of dry kindling--but no fireplace! Wish I could send you some!

Oh how I'd like one right now, a nice and cosy fire, to make me forget this cold, wet and very windy Wednesday!!

Very great K picture! I love fires started from kindling. Today would be a great day for one of those fires. It is dreary and damp! Hope your day is lovely! God bless.

Well we need a nice warm place right now here in Holland. It's been raining all day and there is a strong wind blowing. So your wood fire is very welcome!

Kindling! Never thought of that K. Very good. When I lived in Brown County, the only heat I had was provided by a wood stove. I can start a fire anywhere and with anything now. LOL

Very evocative pix - may we have the Roaring-blaze ones too please?

Oi, Miss Dragon! I love to listen to the sound of the cracking burning woods! Such a cosy thing to have a stove like this at home!

Kisses, dearest.

Great choice, Dragonstar. Not to worry, not one knew what my Odd Shot was either.

I bet that produced a lovely fire :-)

Clever 'k' words and I remember loving the smell of the kindling wood that my granny used in her wood stove. Thanks for the memories!
Happy Wednesday!

Whem Winter arrive I sure would like to be warm around it.

Kindling takes me back, haven't had my own open fire since childhood.
Sadly, all the Victorian fireplaces were taken out of my current home before I bought it; often wish I'd restored one.

Take care

Thanks for the great photos! Which reminds me, I must get out into the woods and gather more kindling for winter. One can never have enough.

In our final hotel room we had an open fire. Husband lit it for the 2nights we were there. There's nothing quite like curling up reading in front of a nice warm fire.
