Monochrome Monday

Today sees the start of a new weekly meme, hosted by Aileni.

The rules are simple - post a monochrome picture.
Anything else is up to you!

This bench sits on Main Street, Dungloe. It's close to the edge of the pavement/sidewalk. A nice peaceful (!) place to watch the traffic, while pedestrians walk past behind you.

I'd like to do this meme but I'm doing Robert's " What's in your"

Very classic - quite the poster image.
SHadows do come out so well in B&W.

Very classy and timeless too.
I joined in too. Looks like it will be a great meme.

This is a lovely enduring image. Benches like that are not installed nowadays. Certainly not that close to the traffic, either! Those white stripes add to the impact of the image too.

Love this one! A great start I agree!

Nice shot - I like the way the bench slats seem to parallel the kerb and road markings. It adds a nice focal point to the image.

B/W pix are so evocative. Why do more things look better in monochrome?

A perfect subject for a Monochrome picture. Steel gives a wonderful effect with black and white pictures.
I'm just like Louis La Vache, very interested in this meme.
