ABC Wednesday - V

Poor Mrs Nesbitt has electrical problems, so
ABC Wednesday
is starting a bit early this week!

Anyway, we've reached the letter
V

V

is for
Violets
and
Vetch

I took this photo earlier this year.
A clump of Dog Violets grows in a stone wall along the lane where I do most of my dog-walking.

This yellow Vetch grows further up the same lane.
I'm not positive about it's name, but I think it may be Birdsfoot Trefoil.

This is probably Tufted Vetch. It likes to grow and climb up any supporting plant or fence.

For more V posts, visit our hostess
Mrs Nesbitt,
and enjoy!

I think we may have some vetch growing above our stone wall! Will check it out, I wondered what it was.

Beautiful violets - but I've never heard of vetch!

I find your post fascinating. We have vetch all over too — but none is yellow! What a pretty variation. Ours is purple, blue, white and sometimes all three. It just began blooming.

You have stayed in the garden, I have stayed on the mountain. I am ready for V, W, and X as I will be gone most of the time in between--but my V will post around midnight my time.

Perfect choices for the letter V. I hadn't thought of those either.

Well done.
I love violets & their delicate fragrance, but didn't see any wild ones this Spring.
Bought my-self a bunch of Devon Violets, but they weren't the same.

I hadn't realised you had spotted Vetch - good choice.

Regarding your comment at "Louis's" Visions of Hell, neither "Louis" nor Mme. la Vache would want to see those horrid panels up close on a daily basis! They truly are depressing. What we see from our balcony is what you see here in the second photo.
