Saturday PhotoHunt - Metal

I'm posting tonight rather than tomorrow morning, as I've a busy weekend ahead. I may not be able to do much visiting, although I'll call on as many of you as I can.

Anyway, the theme for this week is

METAL

and here is my offering.

This is a metal grid in the road, covering a drain. If you look closely you can see the water several feet below, still draining away after the last rain.

Saturday PhotoHunt is hosted by TNChick - visit her to find more participants and to join in the fun.

Happy Hunting.

I can see the water reflection!! Awesome photography.

Happy Easter [or happy weekend, if you don't observe the holiday], and if you can, drop by for my metal interpretation!!! See if you can guess what it is.

Your picture is one of those that gives credence to my feeling that metal is pretty much ubiquitous in our surroundings and lives these days! :)

I have drainage ditches and retention ponds where I live now, but where I grew up are man hole covers and drain covers such as this. It's interesting that different areas utilize different infrastructures in our daily lives.

Very practical metal--amazing that it can be so practical and elsewhere be totally decorative ant thoughtful without any practicality at all.

Several years ago we had one outside our house which was stolen. Then only do we realize how much of a hazard it could be without the cover. Great shot for the theme.

Because the grids are made of metal, some people in my place stole and sold to make money.
