ABC Wednesday - G

Today's ABC Wednesday features the letter G.

G is for GARAGE.

Now, being me, my take on garage is a bit unusual, but if you're all sitting comfortably, then I'll begin. (Slight digression for those in a younger age-group than mine - that was the way the old radio programme "Listen With Mother" used to start!)

Once upon a time there was a garden shed. This shed was old, and had been used for a lot of things. One day a young man bought a motor scooter and stored it in the shed. Later he also bought a motor-bike. This also needed to be kept in the shed, but the door was very narrow. The young man's brother came and built new doors for a new wider doorway.

Yes, it fits!
So the shed became a GARAGE.
And lived happily ever after.

Then on my walk I found another GARAGE. This one keeps the worst of the weather off a small Hard-working tractor.

For more G words, visit MrsNesbit and the other participants, and have a Good Wednesday.

LOL!

In the recent frosts, we've had trouble starting the car in the morning. My mum asked, "WHy not put it in the garage?"
Well, er, we explained, it's full of junk.

-long pause-

then mum asked, "Why do you have a £4,000 car out in the frost and a load of junk in the garage?"

Um, I still can't answer that one.

There was a good song by Charles Trenet : "Je t'attendrai à la porte du garage". I'll wait for you by the door of the garage.

Fine blog.

Hi. Do you have room for me and my bike in that Garage? It is snowing here and we need someplace to stay :-)

I can't find a video of this song "à la porte du garage".

I thought our shed was full... but yours beats it! but really, two bikes in a shed is just showing off! A great G... Jane

Hmmmm....wonder if I could put at least one of the "outside" motorbikes in the shed. That would leave only one outside.. two in the garage, one car in and one out. No room in our garage either..cuz of saws and work tables at the moment. My van sits outside...but we have block heaters in all our vehicles in Canada so they start even at -30C....

Thought after your comment on my Geograph post I'd check out Dungloe and I noticed that are several squares [included ones with roads on] that have no geographs yet - so there is an opportunity for you there.

I thank for the visit!

You know, every once in a while when I drop by here, I glimpse your profile out of the corner of my eye and have to look a second time. I generally, in the first instance, read that you have 63.5 grown children--and I figure that anyone who has that many deserves to be "still mad", with or without the dragons.

I would sell my soul (well, maybe not that much) for a garage for all my stuff. We have resorted to renting a hanger at the airport to store all our toys like quads, kayaks and boat trailers. Squeezing the airplane in is quite a challenge. And thanks for visiting my garden this week.

p.s. My great grandfather was born in Ireland. All that's left are the red highlights in my hair.

I'm a little late, but glad to hear you have rediscovered a new usage for your garden shed. Looks like the shed down the road needs some work. Thank you for posting on my blog.
