Wednesday again, the day
Mrs Nesbitt hosts ABC Wednesday.
Today we've reached the letter
Q
Q is for
QUARTZThese are three quartz pebbles, each with one face polished both to reflect light and to show off the beauty of the interiors.
This one is clear quartz, sometimes called rock-crystal.
This is Rose
Quartz.
This is Amethyst.
Aren't they beautiful?
The funny thing is, when I bought these I was told that pebbles of this kind are sometimes known as ...
wait for it ...
DRAGON EGGS!
Happy Wednesday to you all.

Excellent 'Q' choice
I love the Amethyst one, but they are all so pretty.
Thanks for letting me continue your theme. You are good to me.
Good choices ! Amethysts are so nice !
Miss Yves
Quartz is lovely and makes very squeaky sand!
The quintessential Q's!
I love rocks, too. :)
Have a great day (though yours is almost over and mine is just beginning!)
Were they expensive whn you bought them? They can be made into jewellery, right? :)
Dragon eggs/quartz... either way, they are beautiful.
Great Q choice and nice pictures:)
Crickey!
I should have thought of that one, having managed a crystal store.
And, yes the rolled quartz stones are called Dragon Eggs!
Lovely, Miss Dragon. I first thought of posting quartzs as well, but as I work at a jewelry worshop's office, maybe it wouldn't be very good showing their pieces here, since there's only cut stones on jewels! :P
Loved your dragon eggs, so charming! Amethysts are powerful stones, you know? Kisses, thanks for sopping by at my post! :)
How appropriate, Dragon Eggs. They are beautiful. I love to collect rocks. Every where I go I am sticking one or more in my pocket to add to my collection.
I chose to use nearby Quadra Island for Q. It is a fun vacation destination that you can see by clicking here. – Margy
Dragon eggs??
I love that!
Well, of course you had to purchase the "Dragon Eggs". The perfect choice for the letter Q.
Great shots and choice for Q!
What a lovely name for the pebbles, I think they do look rather like dragon eggs!
Thanks for your comments, folks.
Yes, I love amethysts myself.
Deb, they weren't very expensive, but they're too big for jewellery-making. The larger two are the size of hen eggs.
Blue, thanks for the confirmation of the "Dragon Egg" name!
It is a nice collection of pebbles--and dragon eggs! very good!
Beautiful quartz photos. I'm partial to the Amethyst because I love purple.
Yes, these ARE beautiful! Good take on Q for today. :D
Quartz is a good one for "Q"!!!
mine is here.
I loved them as rocks but as dragons eggs wow.
Great Q! I had such a hard time trying to think of a "Q"!
WAGON EGGS???????
¬"
Dragon eggs!? Be careful where you keep them in case they hatch.
Excellent choice - I have got lots of quartz, I didn't think of using it, I like the Rose quartz.
Great choice. One I did not think of.
They are all beautiful!!!
YOu find dragon things in the NEATEST places. Love the amethyst best.
Hi these rocks remind me Namibia. It is an absolute paradise for rock collectors.
