Odd Shots On Monday

Monday again.

I took most of yesterday off to work out a knitting pattern (more of that at another time) so I'm later than usual with this today.

The plastic flowers from last week disappeared yesterday, but just a few yards down the road I found this.

This sign is at the end of our entry road. In the manner of most such signs it stands over six feet high at the top.

What? You've never seen one decorated like this?

That's a kiddy's plastic bucket hooked over the top of the post.

For more interesting and unusual Odd Shots, visit Katney.

Have a good week.

Yield. The word was odd enough for me never mind the bucket. Odd enough for me.

Babooshka and Arne, I hadn't given it a thought - must have been living here too long! Tes, you're both right, "Give Way" is used in Britain. Here we have to "Yield"
Just realised I could have posted this as an Odd Shot at any time, even without the bucket :)

Quite a funny odd shot!

"Yield" is what the signs say in the US as well, so the sign seemed normal. But the pail, well, that is just what ood shots is all about.

I know what happened! Someone dropped their bucket and a kind soul picked it up and hung it so it would be noticeable to the one who lost it when they came that way again! Otherwise, lost forever! Good catch!

Wonder what a tourist would make of it!

'Yield' did seem odd to me too, the bucket makes it even more odd.

The one who put that cup up must really be a tall child!

the sign is ordinary but the bucket is odd.

Hi Dragonstar,

You would probably have to be a pedestrian or coming the opposite way to notice that bucket.
Yield ... that's like in the US, I believe. In France, it's a "Cedez le passage". But, the sign is identical so no mistaking that even w/ knowing French.

There's something familiar about that...

Dragonstar, sure makes me laugh! It's like people who fling a pair of sneakers into a tree... Thanks for visiting me.
