My New Camera - Two Fer Tuesday!

Yesterday James asked about my new camera, so I thought I'd better tell you about it.
Stephen kindly took these first two photos for me, with his Fuji FinePix S9600.

It's a Sony DSC-H50, with a Carl Zeiss lens, an overly large two-piece lens-hood, all sorts of settings for things I'll never use (film-shows with a musical sound-track - not likely!) ...
... but it has 9.1 megapixels and a 15x optical zoom.

And a beautiful, bright, three-inch tilting LCD screen!
(My camera-phone took this one)

This is the picture you could see in the LCD screen.

Jonna hosts Two Fer Tuesday - visit her to catch up with more participants.

Color me green. I would love a camera with a zoom like yours. I make do with my little Sony. BJ

Strangely I am not envious though that screen is rather nice. For someone who was forever changing cameras, I've grown up at last and would hate lose my version of yours.

Congratulations on your new camera! Mme la Vache brought "Louis" a Nikon back with her from her recent trip to Japan. "Louis" was very happy to replace the toy Olympus with the new Nikon.

That's serious picture taking. My problem would be the learning curve--and the weight of it while hiking, but I do love that zoom.

Wow, what a beauty of a camera! Lots of buttons to push -- or not push -- but great zoomability and mega pixels! Neat!

Hi Dragonstar,
Oooooh; all the beautiful creations that you will be doing !
I'm excited for you; tha camera looks great.
Wgen my hubby first bought ours, I would'nt touch it. I slowly tamed the Nikon & I haven't regretted trying.

Oooo yummy new camera. Now, I would like that, except that it would take me 8 months to learn to use it :)

Thanks for your comment - I have been so down just recently and today's news really gave me a bad knock.

Wow, what a wonderful looking camera! Sadly I don't know the first thing about how mine works. Probably I ought to find out.

I really need a tilt screen to save me from crawling on the ground for low shots. Fine camera, I am awaiting your results.

Ooh - lucky you. I'm so jealous. 15x optical zoom - fabulous. I look forward to seeing the shots you take with it.

what a wonderful camera. I am envious! That will be a lot of fun to learn how to use.

About the dragon.... I am still waiting for it to hatch. From looking at others, it takes normally 3 plus days to hatch. I hope mine hatches, and doesn't die.

It sounds wonderful Dragonstar but it looks kind of heavy to carry around.
I would love 15 x zoom. I was asking about 10 x at the camera store recently. He did point out that there was more of a problem with camera shake. There is? What do I know? Not much.

I'm so envious, the zoooom, as BJ says colour me GREEN!
But, don't envy you the hours of trying to discover all it's features & then trying to remeMber them - just look @ me & my little digital - LOL!

That is a very intimidating looking camera there! Congrats on getting it (and knowing how to operate it, etc.!) :)
