A Charm of Goldfinches.

So I was standing at the sink when I saw these birds on the feeding ball. Still taken through the window, but they show quite well.
They are Goldfinches.
I thought there were two on the ball, but if you look closely you can just see the reddish brow of a third behind the ball. There were three more on the bird-table nuts as well.
Six glorious goldfinches!

Now I'd better go back to the sink!

Great shots. I do so love birds and this was wonderful. You are right that I have posted a shot of the tree man before he grew a beard. I was so startled when I saw what he sprouted, ha.

Goldfinches are truly charming! I love to see them, and they always seem to go around in a group, don't they? Such pretty little things.

Great photo! Is the feeder near to your window?

Great shots. It's such a pleasure to watch the birds. Whenever I try, the birds fly away. I must hurry and get my bird feeder out because the natural supplies of food in the garden are dwindling I notice.

I'm so glad you keep the Birdy Bistro so well stocked year round. It gives you such wonderful pictures and stories to share!

at my old house we used to get lots of birds and even had nesting blue tits..... now no matter how much I leave food out we never ever get one bird into the garden I often wonder why there seem to be no birds around then decided it must be becuase of the large amount of cats near where i live :-(

I'd love to have goldfinches in my garden... you lucky thing! We get the odd one (obviously lost) but I haven't seen a single one this year. I love your feeder as well! Jane

Oh how sweet! When I have my own house (ahem...), I want a big window over the sink, so I can watch the birds while I do my dishes too! :o)

That's your oddshot nut feeder isn't it? I always think a charm is a wonderful noun for a collection of goldfinches.W refer to ours as little masked raiders, those red faces. Lovely image.
