This was taken in the grounds of a local "castle" , actually a hunting lodge which is now run as a museum.
Two of my boys are posing in front of a green tunnel, formed by rowan trees trained FLEXIBLY over a long tubular metal arch.

That's a beautiful archway. I've never been able to train anything successfully, least of all myself:)
Those branches are very flexible - and your boys look so alike. Great pic! Have a lovely weekend.
Thank you both. Yes Siani, both have identical expressions "What the **** is she doing now?"!
I thought at first that the boys were ready to take admission tickets from visitors to the castle. It's a nicely paved walkway below that neat archway. Very inviting!
Now I've seen all sorts of vines trained over those tubes, but never trees. That is really different and neat.
Still doing this are they? Makes nice shade in the summer and lets in the sun during winter when the leaves are gone.
Good photo for the theme Dragonstar.
Really beautiful! Great example!
What a lovely tunnel with the foliage growing over the top. Sara from farmingfriends
