ABC Wednesday, Round 4 - L and M.

Because of that wretched migraine, I missed last week's ABC Wednesday for the first time since letter A of Round 2. Ah well, can't be helped. I'll just have to do two weeks in one.

L
is for
The LUCKY INN,
Chinese Restaurant and Take Away.

And
M
is for
MILLS.
Two old grain mills right on the shore. The grain was brought in by sea and milled here. Flour cost more than many people could afford, so it was sold much cheaper by the Co-operative that ran the mills.

One mill, with the slipway right in front of it.
The steep path to the left of the photo leads to...

...the second mill.

ABC Wednesday was started by Denise Nesbitt.
More participants can be found on the dedicated page.

How interesting, is the restaurant good? We remember the first local Chinese restaurant we went in England 30 years ago. It was terrible. I hope this one is better.

I love the shots of the mills, the light playing off the brick is lovely .. and the Chinese restaurant being SO brightly painted made me smile .. is the Hot & Sour soup good?

The pink building is of course beyond words. All of your pictures are great, though.

I too should have thought to link my missing weeks, but no. Those are no dark satanic mills. The light is lovely casting a golden glow on the mills. As for the pink take away you wouldn't miss that in a hurry. I can honestly say a pink chinese is my first.

You should have had your migraine this week! Not really laughing at you or your migraine, I have them myself and they're no joke. :(

I love the mills, such beautiful buildings! I never go to Chinese restaurants ...

Interesting bit of history. Co-operatives have been a good idea for a long time.

Ah, I also think doing two letters this week to make up for missing one was very clever. I'll have to remember that!

Lovely photos of the mills! I love the pink color on the Chinese restaurant, too. Chinese take-out sounds like a great idea..
