E is for Emptiness

My ABC Wednesday post was meant to be something else, but emptiness got in the way.

Our house is empty and quiet.

Our lovely 14 year old dog left us last night to join her brother, away from stiff joints and other age-related ailments.

Run safe and free darling Badger.

I won't be visiting much today - too many things to do - but I'll try to get to my regular friends as soon as I can.

O help! HUGS!

Perhaps your home may feel a little empty, but I am sure your mind and heart are filled with beautiful memories that can never be taken away!

I understand that loss. Pets bring so much more into our lives that we can possible give back. At least take comfort that we can all be together again with out the confines of our bodies.

Oh, I just read about Badger on Aileni's site. I'm so so sorry. Have a good cry. Not that it will help ...

I send love and George sends big licks.

What a beautiful photo of your lovely Badger, Miss Dragon. I just left Aileni's blog and came here to give you a special hug. After spending 14 years with you, I'm sure Badge's spirit is full of love now and his sweet energy will always be around.
Take care and get our love from here.

You made me cry. I lost my Ronnie on Christmas Eve in 2005. I'm sorry for the loss. His memories are fresh in my mind even today.
May Badger rest in peace.

Oh my...I just left my condolences on Aileni's site and I must give you my sincere sympathies, too. I know how hard it is to lose a pet - they really are members of the family. I hope you have many happy memories of Badger. She will always be with you in your heart and soul, just like my beloved boxer Star is still today.

Just realised from Liz's blog. I am so sorry. She was lovely. I do know how you feel - I really do. Lots of love from Sicily.

I just saw Liz' post and came over to extend my sympathy. I lost my Roco 3 years ago in much the same way. It truly is an empty feeling and an empty house when a special friend like this leaves us.
I hope in time that the memories of good times together will replace your sadness.

Oh Dragonstar, I am so sorry to hear about the loss of your lovely dog. I know just how you feel, even though it is three years since we lost our last dog Cleo, who is my avatar.
Sending hugs and best wishes.

We were jsut talking about losing pets tonight. Our Babe died at 14 also, as did my sis's Thor. It is a ripe age for a dog. You will miss him, but you will go on.

I'm sure she was a very happy dog.

Oh dear, my love and thoughts go out to you all. I know the hurt and pain as we lost Max in December 2006. As responsible, loving owners we do what we can and right to the end our pets know they are loved. Hugs right now, with love.

Oh no! I'm so sorry about Badger. She looked a real sweetie. I can't believe I missed this yesterday. And I've been wittering on about doggy things on my own blog - sorry. I must have seemed so selfish.

Although it hurts like anything now, there will come a point when you will be able to remember her with a smile on your face. Once again, I'm so sorry to hear this sad news.
