My daughter is visiting (great!) so I'm afraid I won't be able to get round to your blogs until after the weekend.
Daughter arrived in Letterkenny by coach. The Bus Eireann depot is on the site of the old railway station. Inside the waiting room is some of the ironwork that once supported the roof, and now just stands around looking decorative. This is one piece against the new ceiling.
The Monochrome Weekend is hosted by Aileni. The best of last week's shots can be seen on the Wall, and this week's entries through the Linky page.

That one deserves posting. A bit of Letterkenny railway history.
Wrought Iron work; one of the good things the Victorians left to us.
great sh0t.
Nice detail!
Most older railway stations (and some new / renewed) should be considered national monuments.

OH...btw, I love your monochrome! Beautiful iron work.
How wonderful for you to be visiting with your daughter! Right now my youngest has move back to the US from London and is staying with us this weekend. Meanwhile, my 3 year old grandson is here (my *older daughter's son*) while she and her husband just left for 10 days in England! They just got there this morning.
So we have a house full this week as well!
Enjoy the time with your daughter!
I thought of a railway-station before I read the text - nice one!
PS Enjoy your visit!
Lovely ironwork. So much character is lost in modern, soulless 20th century architecture.
A real piece of art :-)
I like the detail in the metal work. Hope you have a great weekend with your daughter!
What a beautiful, charming piece! I love iron works.
Kisses from us!
Beautifully rendered, Dragonstar! Have a great visit too!
