Monochrome Weekend

My daughter's visit was great - and she'll be back in May!
While she was here we walked down to the pier on a beautiful afternoon. The tide was half in and very calm. Shadows and reflections were strong.

Monochrome Weekend was started by Aileni. Many more entries can be found through the Monochrome site.

I'm glad you had a good visit with your daughter. This is a wonderful reflection shot and looks like a great place for a mother/daughter walk.

Look how calm. Very nice photo. So glad you enjoyed your visit with your daughter. Grandson will be going back home on Sunday as his parents will be returning from England. I know I will be very sad to see him leave.

It looks like you can walk deep into this picture.

I think one isn't supposed to like photos with this much black shadow in - but I do. Very much. It accentuates the lines and lines are sometimes much more important in monochrome than content / detail. (That's what I think, anyway!)

Lots more good things about this photo too. Hope Aileni puts it on his Wall.

There is a strong line of perspective dragging the eye through your image, DS. Love the contrast of dark and light that you weave around this perspective line. Quite magical.

Excellent photo. The only thing missing is the lonely figure in the distance.

I love this photo. It's not only a wonderful black and white picture it also has a fantastic reflection.
This would be perfect for the Weekend Reflections meme too. Please submit this excellent picture if you have the time.

What a lovely place to take a walk and to remember to bring the camera too. I long for snow free landscapes like this now.

Splendid - the water is so calm and the scene serene in general, but the sharp contrasts and the straight repeating lines give it a lot of tension too. So much in one photo!
