ABC Wednesday Round 5 - B.

ABC Wednesday was started by Denise!

My grandmother collected buttons.
My mother collected buttons.
So naturally I also collected buttons.

B
is for
BUTTONS.

Buttons
in a bottle.

Buttons in a bag.

Very old buttons, from my grandmother and my mother.

Much newer buttons, left over from clothes I made for my children when they were small.

I also have many buckles and some small bells - here are a few.
I can see no use for these buttons, buckles, and bells, but I have kept them for many years "just in case."
I wonder if I'll ever get rid of them...

If you'd like to see more B words from many more people, be sure to visit the ABC page!

I have some of those little kitty buttons, somewhere! Also left over from making clothes for my boys. Buckles and dungaree clips, too!

On behalf of the team, thanks for taking part in this week's ABC Wednesday!

Oh, I love buttons too! I also have my grandmother's. A few Thanksgivings ago, we did a craft at my oldest step-daughter's house. We took toilet paper rolls w/out the toilet paper (LOL) & glued buttons on them to make napkin holders. Mine wasn't memorable. The next day, I got out my Grandmother's buttons and made one in tans, browns, gold and other fall colors. It was perfect and I love it. It was almost like having my grandmother there with me. I have attempted to make more since such as a Christmas one with the reds & greens, but that 2nd one is still my favorite. I have put buttons on vest which are still works in progress. I need to use them more in my artwork. I couldn't bear to part with mine either. I had some of those belts mixed in with her buttons. I wondered if they were used on the old singer sewing machines? It was great "hear" your comment on my blog today. It made my day. Thanks for the visit and the comments.

My mother also has a large collection of buttons; she's an excellent seamstress and never throws anything away! Thanks for visiting me; it's been awhile since I've been here--somehow I've missed your link on ABC Wednesdays.

I know someone who is afraid of buttons and can only use zips. Love the idea of collecting them and you never know when you'll need one.
