The Weekend in Black and White

A Collared Dove left this small feather hanging in a strand of web.
It didn't stay very long as the wind was blowing - in fact, I was lucky to catch this photo!

The Weekend in Black and White

A building seen behind the theatre in Letterkenny.
It seems to be wrapped in quilted aluminium!
I couldn't resist the odd lines and the reflections.

Gardens Need Weeds

I saw two young bluetits in the garden, eating seeds from the tall weeds that I meant to clear weeks ago. Now I know why I never got around to it.
The babies moved so quickly that I just couldn't manage to catch them together, but I did get these three photos through the kitchen window. Don't ask me which of the two birds is in each photo! I'm sure they come from the brood hatched in our nest box.
Note to self - get that window cleaned before trying again!

The Weekend in Black and White

I'm still unable to see clearly, so if this photo isn't sharp I have an excuse!
This is the way I like to see my washing machine - clean and dry after the work is finished.

The Weekend in Black and White

My glasses are broken, and will take some time to repair. I'm reduced to using two old pairs, one for distance and one for reading/computer work. Taking photos doesn't work well with either, so this week I've posted a previously unused photo taken nearly a year ago.
This was once a large part of the winch gear on a now-disused trawler. Rusty metal and fraying rope soon to be overtaken by grass.
