The Weekend in Black and White

My glasses are broken, and will take some time to repair. I'm reduced to using two old pairs, one for distance and one for reading/computer work. Taking photos doesn't work well with either, so this week I've posted a previously unused photo taken nearly a year ago.
This was once a large part of the winch gear on a now-disused trawler. Rusty metal and fraying rope soon to be overtaken by grass.

For a collection of excellent monochrome photographs, please visit The Weekend in Black and White.

I guess the trawler was some way from the sea.

I guess somebody will dig this up about 200 years from now and wonder about the civilization we live in...

I love old abandoned 'stuff'. Often, monochrome enhances them because of the 'old-time' feeling of monochrome. That's a pretty impressive winch. I'm surprised it has not been scavenged for parts.

This is great Dragonstar. The textures and tones are wonderful. I cannot imagine this fine image in color. Get those glasses fixed before you make a spectacle of yourself. LOL

Thank you for your comment - sorry to hear about your glasses! Great shot - I really enjoy finding industrial elements. (After, I always think that "someone" should come and clear it away.
