The Weekend in Black and White

The Peace Bridge, Derry (or Londonderry if you prefer.)

Due to a delayed flight daughter and I landed too late at the City of Derry Airport to make it home that night. We stayed in a local hotel, and I took some photos next day. I love the curves of this bridge, and the wonderful shapes.

Many more black and white photos can be found through the Home Page. Please come and enjoy them.

Great shape; it looks as though bridges are coming to be the 'statement' of many cities now.

I agree, definitely makes a "statement," takes over the landscape. Very cool photograph. Thank you. kareninkenai

Can't add to the others: it's a stunning bridge that contrasts nicely with the old town behind it. Lovely capture in monochrome, Dragonstar.

The shapes are delicious. I like the juxtaposition of curve and line. Suspension bridges are my favorites. Steel is very strong in tension (cables). Your photo does the bridge justice.
