The Weekend in Black and White.

Unexpected Visitor.

This Sparrowhawk  suddenly appeared in our garden, making a meal out of a small bird.
I took the photo through the kitchen window, so the quality isn't as good as it could be, and the hawk kept its eye on me.
It left as soon as it had eaten, flying away between the houses.

You'll find many more black and white photos through the Home Page links.

The small bird doesn't look happy, but at least that beautiful hawk had a meal.

Great shot, though I do hate to see the little birds taken like that.

Nice shot Dstar. The small hawks in my neighborhood aren't usually spooked by people. The big red tails spook easily. I saw a redtail in our yard not 15 feet from me with a pigeon in his claws.

I was taking photos with an old grown graphic the the black cloth, etc. Guess you should always carry a handgun when you are out shooting.
