The Weekend in Black and White.

Fold upon fold.

I'm not over-fond of flowers in black and white, but I had to share this one.
It's a very convoluted daffodil that blooms, every year, later than the rest and always breaks, because the head is too heavy for the stem.
It doesn't look much like a daffodil, but at least it has a lovely colour.

Visit the Home Page for many excellent black and white photos.

A great choice using B&W. I have never seen this kind of daffodil!

I think that looks great in black and white. I also don't usually post flowers in black and white but I did this week.

What a stunning and different daffodil. It is one impressive bloom. I have never seen anything like it before. The monochrome medium worked beautifully. Thanks so much for your sweet works about my portrait of Eloise. She is growing up so fast. After I read your comment, it dawned on me that all of you have watched her grow up as I have. That is a bit of icing on the cake of our blogging with one another over a long period of time :-) genie

Have to agree that flowers don't always work in b/w—but this one most definitely does!

Like you, I do not very often convert my flowers into b&w, but I think this one worked very well! Beautiful folds!
Ps. My photo shows a sculpture outside Henie Onstad museum of contemporary art in Oslo. My tags had dissepered...:)
Have a nice weekend, Dragonstar:)

Looks more like folded paper than a flower. Nice B&W shot.

love the folds, shadows and the textures. that's one of the best things about b/w, you get to highlight the smallest detail..

I agree that flower images are often better in colour, but sometimes b&w if perfect - and this is definitely one of those times! Gorgeous image.
