The Weekend in Black and White

Contrasts.

Seen in Main Street, Letterkenny, but typical of many Irish streets.
Ancient and modern side by side.

Many black and white photos can be found through the links on the Home Page. They're worth a visit.

We only had a few days on the west coast, but we loved it and will be going back.

Like it!

Great shot. I like the way the modern sign is off to the side of the gate and doesn't interfere with the look.

Good to see the bare pavement, though! The white stuff looks often nice on pictures, but it is not my favourite in real life :) Best wishes!

I've never been as far as Letterkenny but Millstreet in county Cork (my mum's home village) was a place of contrasts. Nice pic!

Cool shot and interesting. Looks great in BW. The sign is a bit disturbing ... I would crop the image to make me look straight through the gate.

Have a nice weekend!

Have a nice week :)

The closed gate doesn't deter me from wanting to go inside. The old and new stand well together; not at all jarring. Your image is charming in monochrome.
